This autumn, we warmly invite you to a special day at Runkelstein Castle! Under the theme ‘Light and Fire in the Middle Ages’, we are offering a lively, educational performance exploring one of the most fascinating topics from times gone by.
Our visitors can look forward to a varied programme featuring demonstrations, hands-on activities and clear explanations. Among other things, we have planned:
candle-making, boiling tallow, striking fire, comparing medieval light sources, making wicks, working with tinder, bleaching wax...
Some of the activities will take place in the castle courtyard – with open fire pits and an authentic atmosphere. Other programme items will be held in the rooms of the East Palace.
Whether you’re a family, a history buff or simply a curious visitor – this day offers exciting insights, hands-on craft experiences and atmospheric impressions perfect for the Advent season.
We look forward to seeing you there for a day dedicated to fire and light!
